Day 4 - Auchinstarry to Falkirk

Due to terminal appendages (aka "feet") that were threatening mutiny, I grudgingly granted them an unplanned-for day off.  So, instead of walking the 13 miles from Auchinstarry to Falkirk, I took the train.  I was planning to walk to the train station in Croy (next to Auchinstarry), but as I was checking out of the Boathouse, a lovely woman named Jan offered me a ride instead.  Train ride was short - less than 10 minutes.  Called the Best Western Park Hotel and found out that my room was all ready for me, so I grabbed a taxi and went straight there to check in.  Spent some time doing a little laundry in the sink, and had a good dinner in the restaurant.  Since today was pretty much a non-event, there aren't many photos to share.

My room at the Boathouse last night.  One of the nicest places I've ever stayed in - great food, friendly staff, beautiful location, and what I consider a pretty luxurious room.

The Auchinstarry basin off the Forth and Clyde Canal.  This is the view from my room.
